While exploring the ruins under Palfrey's Keep that party was attacked by a horde of demons lead by a Balor named "Manoroth".

During the battle the balor cast a Firestorm. The spell was too much for the renouned mage as he fell to the spell.

He was later raised in Greyhawk by Phenon.
